Every one of them. However, we want to balance a nurturing environment and a safe environment."Earlier in the day, Randy Bridges, director of student services, addressed the League of Women Voters about the district's crisis plan.He said that all Fort Smith schools will be outfitted with the latest in video surveillance by the end of the 2013 14 school year."We're going through and upgrading all of the systems," Bridges said. "I wish we did, but we don't. In an elementary school, they probably have the best response for that because we have located a large monitor right by the secretaries."Later, Bridges added, "There is no technology to replace observant people who have good judgement."The American Association of School Administrators, of Dianabol 5 Week Cycle which Gooden is board president, is urging Congress to pass "common sense gun safety legislation.""We cannot make our schools armed fortresses," the association states in its official response to the Connecticut shooting. "Whether to bring police officers into schools should be decided on a school by school basis. We oppose efforts to bring more guns into our schools by teachers and administrators."Instead, the AASA suggests addressing school and gun safety while increasing mental health services, community support for youth and new attitudes about violence in entertainment.Bridges was asked Monday how "Anaboliset Aineet" the district feels about armed teachers."Certainly, Fort Smith public schools are not considering that because that's going to be a state law issue," he said. "We're going to do what the Legislature tells us to do. There are so many pros and cons to those things, we could debate all afternoon on whether that's a good idea."In his own opinion, guns are not the answer."You have to be comfortable with a gun and you have to be set in your heart and in your mind that when I pull this gun, I'm ready to kill someone," he said. "That's what it boils down to. That's what you're asking a teacher to do if you force teachers to be armed. You have to mull that over for yourselves and reach your own conclusions. But I don't feel comfortable with it."The Fort Smith School District has 19 elementary schools, four junior high schools, two high schools and an alternative school. The estimated student population is 14,000.At elementary schools, all doors are kept locked except Deca Durabolin And Test Cypionate Cycle the entrance."That's been pretty successful because we have had people running from the police come on campus, try to get in a locked door and shake it," Bridges said. "If a child hears that, they're reporting it to the teacher. We have coached them what to do not to open a door just because it's an adult."The school district employs a supervisor of safety and security, Eric Huber, and pays half the salaries of two Fort Smith Police Department patrol officers."They are employees of the Police Department as patrol officers, but their beat is Northside High School and Southside High School," Bridges said. One of the district's goals is to employ resource officers at the junior high schools."We're working toward that," Bridges said. "We'd like to have one at each junior high. It's a funding issue. We've set aside money for that. But the city's budget is very, very tight right now. Believe me, the city wants to."In Fort Smith, students are routinely drilled on three color coded crisis plans.During a "code red" crisis, schools are 4-chlorodehydromethyltestosterone locked down."I think code buy cheap jintropin online red is one of the most important drills we do because it just locks everything completely down," Huber said. "We do practice a Deca Durabolin Subcutaneous lot and do have locations they can go to immediately. It could just be closets that they take classrooms into."Bridges added that teachers and students are asked to "be quiet and out of sight" during the lockdown.
